Help! I can't run Create-A-Room, or have a problem

What are the system requirements?
One of the following operating systems and browsers is needed to run Create-A-Room properly.
Operating Systems:

  • Microsoft Windows 98, 98 SE, ME
  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional, Server, Advanced Server
  • Microsoft Windows XP Home, Professional
    Suggested Hardware:
  • For best performance, DirectX 8.0 or higher and a 3D-accelerated display adapter are recommended.

  • Browser Types:

I clicked on the link to start Create-A-Room but nothing happened. What's wrong?
    First,
    1. Check your Internet connection.
    2. Make sure you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or above.
    3. Make sure the Internet security level isn't set to "high".
    4. Make sure you log on as a user with administrative privileges.
It may take Create-A-Room up to 15 minutes to prepare for scanning. The amount of time it takes to prepare depends on your modem speed. The next time you scan, there will not be such a long wait.
Create-A-Room makes use of cookies and Active-X controls loaded onto your PC from our Create-A-Room server. If you prohibit the loading of these controls, the service will not work. Therefore your Internet Security settings must allow the loading and use of cookies and Active-X controls. All components are registered with Verisign and contain an appropriate certificate.

If you still have problems running the Active-X control, we suggest you run Create-a-Room without ActiveX by clicking on the self-extracting archive version. Macintosh browsers are not supported in the current release.

How do I enable ActiveX Control in Internet Explorer?

  • From the browser menu, click Tools > Internet Options
  • Click on the Security tab
  • Select the globe icon representing the Internet Zone
  • Click Custom Level
  • Scroll down to the ActiveX controls and plug-ins section
  • Under Download signed ActiveX contols select Prompt
  • Under Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins select Enable
  • Under Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting select Enable
  • Click OK to close the Security Settings window (If prompted to verify that you want to change the security settings for this zone click Yes)
  • Click OK to close the Internet Options window

I see a Security Warning when running Create-A-Room
This is normal for most security settings. We have "signed" our Create-A-Room so you know it is from us, and safe. It is safe to trust content signed by "ERA Franchise Systems, Inc." Click the "Yes" button when this dialog appears.
